Krnica, or Carnitia, is situated at the 195 metres above the sea height within the municipality of Marcana. The Port of Krnica (Porat) is its "coastal" extension. In the village, you can find a post office, a store and several cafe bars. Besides Krnica, nearby you can find some picturesque villages such as Rakalj, Mutvoran, Peruški, Kavran, Barban, Gologoricki Dol, Marcana… as well as many others. Horseback riding, walks, mountain biking, swimming, boat rides are only some of the activities you can undertake if and where you are not diving. By the same token, you can take the excursion to somewhere in the central Istria to the well-known Hum, Buzet, Motovun, Grožnjan, the Pula's Arena or in the perhaps less known Mutvoran, the Valley of the river Raša, the Old Town of Labin or for a walk on the Pula's fortresses. In the Port is the inn "K Ribaru" known by the definitely best shrimp in the Adriatic and the place where we obligatorily take our first morning coffee or Pelinkovac.
The best Inn in this part of Istria is definitively "Konoba Taj" in Pula. All Istrian delis in one place. Prosciutto, cheese, truffles, gnocchi, the traditional Istrian home made pasta "fuži", filled ravioli… A good inn is also known for a good hostess-our Barbara. When you are very hungry, you can order by phone and the food will be ready on the table when you come to the inn.
In the nearby Duga Uvala, you can find the hotel Croatia with an indoor swimming pool, fitness and a Turkish and Finnish sauna. Make sure to look at the gallery and print the map you can find on this web site. It will help your orientation.
